interesting fault code! :)

Post by shantybeater »

Well my local garage plugged my car into VAGCOM today to check out the fault codes & this one made him chuckle

"17968 - maximum engine speed exceeded, warranty void :-) " - (with the smilie at the end)

now im not encouraging people to go out and attempt to get the fault up!

Out of the box they are supposed to reach 140

it doesnt matter you can remove it with all the other fault codes lol, i asked about it on seatcupra....unfortunately its related to rev's rather than road speed which is a bit boring, i'm guessing they lifted my limiter when my car was mapped...

There was discussion bout this a few months back saying that this code didnt exist when the car was taken over its factory limit.

Haha that's brilliant! The smiley face at the end is abit cheeky! They'll do owt to get out of paying out for warranty! They'll just sit there and be smug at the dealers if that cropped up lol :)
