Easter's Arrived - Cleaning & New Additions =)

Post by MaxZ »

Meant that I finally got back from Uni, and gave the car the clean it deserved. Also gave me a chance to add a small touch of a black front VW badge, and I removed the ClubPolo stickers from the side, as they just weren't up to my preference.
This included a complete wash down with AutoGlym Shampoo and Wheel Cleaner
Poorboy's Clay
AG Super Resin Polish
AG High Gloss Protection
Meguiers Carnuba Wax
AG Glass Polish
AG Wheel Dressing
AG Wheel Cleaner
Megs Metal Polish
Poorboy's Wheel Sealant

Then for the interior..

AG Interior Shampoo
AG Vinyl & Rubber Care
AG Leather Cleaner
AG Leather Care Cream
A whole load of hoovering and cleaning

and some photos..

Before - These were taken pre-application of clay/polishes but after a hosedown and shampooing.

After

And as soon as I finished, it started to rain =( Still took some photos..

And of the rain beads after all the wax..

Comments welcome - good or bad.

Good show Max :P

The GTI is stunning though; everything works and works nicely. Which Meguiar's wax did you use? Was it the Stage 3 one that smells and looks like Banana milkshake?

If you're impressed with the beading on the Meg's stuff, wait till you see something like Collinite. I spent about 5 minutes playing with the beading and sheeting on the freshly cleaned Rocco which has been treated with 3 coats of Collinite 476S :D

Yep, that one. I only bought it as Halfords didn't have the Turtle Wax I usually use in stock. I've put an order for a bottle of Dodo Juice next.

Dodo is good stuff. The hard "Diamond white" or the soft "Light Fantastic" wax will look lovely on your car.

Leather interior was the primary reason I bought this car, heated as well.

I started at 12 today and didn't finish to just before sunset, i.e. about 6 o'clock.
My hands are hurting now, and very stiff :P

Looking good Max.

I spent a good 6 hours washing mine the other day and it looked ace. Bloody dust and rain soon changed that though!!!

Bought myslef some Collinite the other day and used it so we'll see how long the water beading lasts!!

Looks pretty good. I'd recommend Chemical Guys Jetseal 109 - works amazing with reflex silver and the durability is incredbile
