Water - alternative comp shots!
I've already submitted my 'water' themed photo for this months comp, but I came across 3 other cool pics in my album along the way!
This was a burst water main we had at work near Brackley.
As you can see, my mate wasn't too happy (he was on call that night and had a couple of thousand people off of water!)

There are certainly some good photographers on this forum!
I've been meaning to learn, and am definately learning before I go away traveling...but I used this competition thing as an experiment...to muck around with a few settings, not that I knew what I was doing! I also want to know how good my camera is (and at what) and see if I want a new one before I go away...
I managed to get very confused, and take quite a lot of bright white photos....but I quite like these ones:

The first 2 are actually taken with my compact, Pentax Optio A20, absolutely brilliant little camera, especially with close-ups until I can afford a macro lens! I think those 2 shots were taken in a butterfly house in wales last year, had both cameras with me but the Pentax tackled it much better!alexperkins wrote:What lens are you using for the first shot bryony?

July Comp B&W Alternatives
Right it took me a while to choose which picture to enter this months, as I took quite a few with this comp in mind while on hols last week.
I know this isn't the perfect place for them but didnt want to start a new thread just for these, but just thought I'd show the other shots I had to choose from this month
Hopefully I chose the best one
