Apologies for not replying sooner - I've been investigating further but haven't resolved the issue. I've checked the key lock position but this was already in the "unlock" position.
The boot unlock button on the remote does unlock the boot but doesn't take the lid off it's latch. Are there any 9N's out there that can remotely unlock the latch ?

Okay, as you have found the "unlock" position is when the key slot is vertical and the "leave as is" position is when the key is horizontal. I can't see as to why you want the latch to be unlocked as these cars get very dirty quickly at the rear and you need to grab the latch handle to lift the tailgate, also as these cars have hydraulic struts to support the tailgate releasing the latch will still not cause the tailgate to lift by itself - for that you would need to replace the struts for springs - to achieve what you seem to want - remotely released and raised tailgate.

Hi RUM4MO,

Yes, you are correct, the "unlock" position is when the key slot is vertical.

Maybe we are talking cross purposes here - I don't want the tailgate to automatically lift when the boot release button is depressed on the key fob. Instead, I simply want to lift the tailgate off the latch when the button on the keyfob is depressed.
