Currently on my 9n 1.2 55 E i have front discs, and rear drums.
Not if i were to upgrade, what would be the best upgrade to do? Would it be best to just put some new discs on the frontl (and leave the drumz of powa)? Or would it be better to put some new discs on the back? Or would it be best to put some new discs on the front, and transfer the old ones to the back (is that possible). Is there anything else involved with changing drums for discs?
Also what sort of discs would be the best to use? Ones off a golf or something maybe?
I'm not planning on doing an upgrade any time soon, it's just purely a curiosity thing.
Cheers guys.

As far as I know, on your car if you want to
a) upgrade drums to discs
or
b) upgrade to bigger discs (288 for example)
you need new hubs for both setups.
let's face it, it's not worth putting a huge brake setup on your car unless you up the power! you will get a significant improvement by buying fast road pads and changing your brake fluid.
always do the cheap fixes first, and then progress if you want to. you could look out for a rear disc setup at a scrapyard. that's what I'd do.
you _might_ be able to fit the TDI (255mm or 256mm) discs on the front - not sure if they are bigger or will fit though.
