Bumpers

Post by racerjonzo »

right what im asking is any recommendations for bumpers?
i was looking at 16v's all round but after lookinf around here, they are becoming a bit common, dont get me wrong they are nice as feck and especially when the front 16v is slightly smoothed, thts the balls lol :)
just i want it too look unique but not tacky, and ideas...

got some ideas tell me what you think of these;
Front Ones First
No.1
Image

No.2
Image

No.3
Image

Rear Ones Now
No.1
Image

No.2
Image

No.3
Image

Also i was thinking maybe mixing one of the above with a 16v bumper to be more unique, ie front 16v smoothed with the rear no.1 :)

opions and criticism welcome, to a certain degree :P lol

yea i kno wat you mean... but thought id check and see wat other ppl think first :)
IMO i prefer the first front and rear as they seem to be the most straight forward looking but im not sure... cheers for ur thoughts Tim might have to go with the 16valvers then :) lol

You could try something with your current bumpers maybe? Colour the splitter, and smooth it a little? Not sure how original that is but would look quite nice

cheers again

16V bumpers all the way mate, those look a bit over the top. Save your money and get that beast decked to the floor though!

The first picture of the front ones looks ok... 16v bumper is probably the way forward though...

crap nevr seen a yellow polo that looks alrite! Dont really lik those bumpers, front 3 is ridiculous, dont mind rear 1 it looks a bit like a golf r32 one. Theres loads of playin about with 16 valves to make em look diff, like i put mesh in mine and smoothed top holes. i think what looks well nice is a 16 valve bumper wher the splitter is smoothed on to it.

yea im still thinking about the 16v bumpers but just thought id look into others.... oh found a pic of the first bumper but in red with black angels, like mine :) now wat do yous think...
Image

oh and some ideas wat to do with the 16v tht i havent seen done, just do some work to them...
heres the original pic..
Image

then first idea;
Image
instead of smoothin both or one hole, maybe open the wee gap up :?

then my second idea;
Image
smooth the top hole but open up the middle into the side with a slant to it.. :)

then the last idea bit odd;
Image
most ppl smooth the side... but in this case its just the middle, interesting

let me know wat yous think... Cheers

Stock 16v bumpers are nice but I like the way people smooth out the top of the side slots. I've won front and back 16v bumpers btw in flash red on ebay :D

I prefer the second red picture (with both slots merged into 1).

the 1st front bumper does look wierd but in the pic you found it kinda looks ok and most decent out of the 3. Out of the ones you did only the 1st and 2nd bumpers look good. I say you should join the upper and lower grilles together and smooth the splitter into the bumper. If you want the black and red theme to continue then spray the splitter gloss black (its gone grey so not really working on your theme!). Other then that you can smooth the plate recess so the curve on the follows all across the bumper and place the plate on the lower grille.

Other things which work with the theme is roof, wing mirrors, handles, rubstrips, splitter and all grilles sprayed in a black of your choice.

eg:

If you want to take the look further then spray the spokes and dishes black and red in either colour on your rims :idea:

Want to be unique; not many polo's like that is there?

Is that not just a 16v bumper with the vents cuts and a splitter smoothed in?
