Always had a soft spot for the little 106's especially the gti....with a bit of pressurising i got her to sort the bump strips out & wing mirrors, she managed to scrape it so decided it was a good time...
here's the outcome:
before:
after:
reckon it makes the car look alot more modern! now all i need to do is force her in to slamming it & sticking some Schmidt TH Lines on, either that or wheels off the 206 cab!
so whilst mine is sat on the driveway making horrible noises hers is showing it up!
haha yeah it is tim....i kind of want it back but she refuses to let me have it....plus every single person that got in my car looked at it & went 'is this your girlfriends car?'....
tom - you may not want to clean it too much apparently the weather is looking s**t for it
Nice! show her some pics of how good it would look euro'd!
Shame about the way the weather has been looking for spring fest, we've been sorting out simons rocco for the last 2 nights (spent last night putting a blob of paint on every stone chip on the bonnet, on a J reg car thats a lot of chips!!). He's got today and tomorrow off work to clean it within an inch of its life!
ah man the weather was so good last year! i was bloody freezing all night though because somehow i forgot to bring a tent, sleeping bag or anything sensible...luckily bryony helped me out
plan on staying in my nice warm bed this time & actually getting some sleep
i was shown by a guy off my local forum a scary way of getting rid of stone chips, he filled them with touch up paint, then when dry he used a really high grade sand paper..then put some wierd t-cut stuff on followed by a polish, you literally couldnt see where the chip was!, watching him sand paper his paintwork and the paint drip off was a little scary tho!
Thats what we're doing, blobs of paint in each chip (took friggin ages) then sand with 2500 paper followed by a little 3000 paper. Then polished with his UDM with a stronger then a weaker cutting compound, then buffed up and waxed lots.
Will post the results on here if they are any good.
Looks loads better like that! My mate has a blue GTi (is that a quicksilver she has?) I think they're decent looking cars to be honest! Even more so with the CC bumpers!
