First mods on my 9n

Hard to explain, but if you remove the HU and changer and put your hand though towards the bottom left...towards the front of the dash underneath the tray which is under the glove compartment, there's a felt lining through which you can poke wires through. Run it under the carpet towards the door sills and then through the sills to the boot.

i miss my sub/amp. but i think the speakers are really good tbh, except drivers one as it vibrates when loud lol

I routed the RCA down the driver's side of the car, and the power down the passenger side (on a RHD car).

You can easily route them to either A pillar providing you have patience and carefully tuck them out of the way - the passenger side requires a bit of trim removing to do it properly but it's just 2 screws.

then on either side all you have to do is pull off the trim on the sill (and possibly the door seal - I forget now), and then you can feed the wire to the boot with a bit of care without even having to remove the rear trim. It pops out near where the seatbelt is mounted. I found that pulling the carpet out a bit helped the situation.

you can't see any wires at all, just a standard HU and a damn loud sub and passive rad in the boot!

Make sure the RCA and power cables run down opposite sides of the car, if they're on the same side there's a chance of interferance

i had them down same side on my old car, wasn't a problem so might do that as its easier lol

Yeh it doesn't always happen. It's just an un-written rule in ICE setup

My Nakamichi unit is the muts nuts for SQ but i've not built the box for that just lots of deep bass so the std gamma should do the job and looks cool because it's stock.

And yes i'm changing the fronts only but not made my mind up yet

it's either RAINBOW COMPS , FOCAL or GENISIS ????

I do like the Focals 165v i think they are and then i'll run them off a small focal amp but they can wait till the next pay day

, going to need fronts amped up when that subs booming i think

does your car only have front speakers? or does it have ones in the back also? mine has front and back so recon it'll cost alot to upgrade them with an amp for them too.

I've got upgraded Amped speakers in the front and the standard speakers running from the H/U in mine and you ask anyone who's heard it they'll tell you that works just fine.

It's a 139.8db system.

Yeh it does!

But in all fairness the thing's so bloody loud you don't notice the rear speakers!

That's what I mean though, you don't really need rear speakers. Just decent front ones

Who cares if people on the back can't hear the vocals

Yeh rear speakers should come bottom of the list, it's far more important to have great front speakers and nothing in the back, rather than average front and rear speakers.

Well happy for all of 5 mins on friday , picked my car up from euro car in brighouse and the lads had done a sweet job of putting my kit in the car .

The system dropped big time , it was way beyond what i hoped it would sound like and drove the car off back to work , after 5mins sat in traffic with the system kicking out some sweet tunes at half / 3/4 volume and the gains turned down to half way set -3 bass on the head unit (it was too silly lol) i had a big bang bang bang noise and some popping sounds , looked in the rear mirror and smoke started pouring out of the port in the box it was like the car was on fire

I drove right back to them and said the cars on fire or some s**t they took the sub out of the box and said the coil is f##ked , its down to customer abuse WTF i said, they had it playing for two hours they said and tested it out with bass CD's etc with out a prob ????????.

Going to get in touch with autoleads on monday to get the kit sent off for testing / swapping cos thier is a big problem , to say i'm fu#ked of is an understatement .

Need to get it sorted asap cos the system sounds mega , i'm defo going to give it a go this year in the street bass class .

That sucks mate, how many fuses have did they install and what size are they?

Also what kit did you settle for in the end?

I know it's shiz, the size of the fuse holder cables etc are the ones from
the system when it was in my bug so Huge

, i think it's down to the amp giving the sub too many watts up it ?? maybe the amp is faulty and thats whats burnt the coils out on the sub ?? , i dont know until it gets checked when i send it back to autoleads .

The box i built worked a treat too so thats a bonus cos i know know what i'm getting when the new kit comes
