both provide a very similar gaming experience, the price of the xbox 360 and a larger vareity of games swayed it for me

These threads never end well on gaming forums .. usually with XBOX and Playstation fanboys near enough threatening to kill eachother, quite sad really

Personnally, I'd been thinking for ages which console to get. I was tempted to get a 360 when the PS3 was delayed, I imagine alot of past PS owners did this. However, I decided to hang on until the PS3 was released. Initially when it was released I was swaying towards the 360 again due to lack of games and shockingly expensive price, but all I could think about was missing out on GT5 and Metal Gear Solid 4 lol.

Thinking about it now that's what made me get a PS3 in the end, plus the fact that it's a Blu-ray player :) . I've had it since Christmas and I'm very pleased with it, it's more of an all round entertainment/multimedia unit than the 360. The only thing it's missing at the moment is in game XMB, but that should be sorted in the next few months apparently.

lol I know a lot of people are biased... I too am as I've always been more of a ps fan and never much cared for the chunk what some call an xbox controller.
The only thing thats pulling me toward xbox is the price because Im buying it for one game but obviously I'll be buying others and as stated xbox has a wider variety of games at the moment.
Thinking in the long run ps3 would be a bettet buy purely for the bluray?
Keep the votes/comments coming.... :)

There's no doubt both consoles are good. But I think this year will be the PS3's year with the games that are coming out and the new features being released with the next few system updates. Arguably aswel the PS3's Bly-ray player is the best on the market due to the regular firmware updates.
