How low do i go???

Post by Dan1587 »

I have a 6N Polo! I have put some new wheels on it, its looking good but would look even better if she had a lower stance!

So, i am thinking about buying a lowering kit! I have found one made by PI springs, this comes with both springs and shocks and seems a good price. But there are to different height options, 40mm or 60mm.

Now the question?

40mm not enough?

60mm to much?

Tbh i want a kit that wont rub my 195/45 15's with people in the back but will also look good!!

Any advice from someone who has done this?

Thanks in advance

I was wondering the same thing, i was going to go 50mm with my 195/45/15's but 60 mm sounds better. Any idea how low this will look?

I didn't bother looking for 40mm, IMO it's just not worth it

That's very expensive for just a springs and shocks kit, you could get coilovers for that price....

Minds made up, 60mm it is! I've found some springs, Jamex 60mm kit with shocks £118 on Ebay. £10 delivery. Sound good?

Thanks for the photos and advice.

Best tip is to save up and get coilovers, then you can adjust to the height that suits you.

That may be somthing to do in the future. Think i'd go 60mm and then have a saving spree, see how low i can go.

60mm without a doubt, 40 isn't enough and 60 is fine. I'm going with a set of philj's coilover kits next year, 60/60 hopefully.

60mm won't rub? what are they like with road humps? Hmm saying that my mates VTR is 90mm and he can just manage them.

Here's coilovers for £200, decent for the price.

I wouldn't judge how you'd manage speed bumps by the height of cars like the VTR, they are completely different cars with a completely different chassis. Some cars can be lowered 100mm fine, some may struggle on 50mm.
