will it be costly...?

Post by Dan1989 »

i just got home from driving with my mate and we were driving along a country lane me in front and him driving behind and next thing i know there was like 3 or 4 badgers in the road i slammed on my brakes thinking f*** its guna f*** my bumper up and then next thing i know *BANG!!!!* my mate drove into the back of me :(

i wouldnt say theres loads of damage (all body work on my car is standard)...

id definatly need a whole new back bumper top and bottom half

but the thing is i think its pushed my back end in cuz i have to proper slam my boot to shut it and the boot doesnt seem to sit flush with the back either

i really feel bad cuz my parents are telling me hes gota pay for it or his insurance will (as its tecnicly there car) but i fell quite bad cuz it is one of my mates

my mate drives a peugeot 106 and his bonet is f****d its pushed it somehow under the bumper and theres a lil dent where he punched it... but doesnt seem to be too much damage

Dam badgers

i spose its the only thing i could of done to brake cuz ive been told how much damage they can cause

thanks in advance to any replys

Lift up the carpet in the boot, is it creased? If so i'm sorry to say it's a complete write off, chances are if it was a hard shunt then it probably has. A 1.0L isn't worth too much so that will reduce your chances of it being considered more valuable.

Your mate was to blame as he hit you, it's his fault regardless.

oo well il have to have a look in the morning as il wake up the street shutting my boot

well the last time i looked at my speedo i was doing 40mph so him simaler so im guessing he was doing 10-20mph on impact he said he braked late and i heard him lock his wheels up

yeh i know that if anyone drive into the back of you its there fault been here before but that time it was only like a tiny shunt 2mph kinda thing

thanks for the quick reply

taken it to 1 bodyshop (my mate said he would pay for it instead of insurance) they quoted £449.80

this is for

rear lower panel
2 number plate lamps
pull rear panel
repair panel assembly

And £252 is labour lol

getting another quote sent through hopefully tomorow

Sounds like a reasonable quote.

However if you send it through the insurance, they'll most likely write the car off.

Sorry to hear about it mate, but i think i can say we've all been there with the fox or badger excuse

Quote does sound fair though depends if you want it fixed so its mint again or smaked out so it cloeses and new bumpers?
