9n tdi big brakes

what size brakes can you fit to a 1.9 tdi? and is it easy to do?

I take it you have the non-GT model?

If that's the case, it's tough because the caliper carriers are an integral part of the hub.

There's no point in sizing them up TBH, you're better off changing the fluid and getting new discs + pads (fast road pads). They will make it a lot sharper.

If you want to spend cash, you will need new hubs (from the GTI 9N3, VRS etc) and then you can put on anything you want within reason, the largest size being restricted by your alloy size.

common ones for those sort of hubs are the golf anniversary setup, or even the TT setup (at 312mm I think)

TT/Cupra 312mm brakes will go straight onto the 9nGT, VRS, Ibiza FR/Sport diesels as long as standard wheels are used!
all you need to buy is a kit which will include discs, pads, carriers and calipers. standard brake lines can be used.

though if anyone chooses to, i have a set of 10k mile old gti 9n3 calipers carriers hoses mintex xtreme pads and 288 mm original disks for sale cheap, just need them gone

Would 1.9 TDI brakes be an upgrade for my 1.4 TDI brakes?

Not without 'upgrading' the hubs aswell no!
