Volkswagen Specialists??

Post by smokey666 »

Hi Guys,

I need to get a cambelt change and possibly a service for my 1.4 Polo Sport but I phoned up my local VW dealer and the man said that the cambelt could cost as much as £400 and full service would cost £250 which I thought was ridiculously expensive.

I was wondering if anyone knew any VW specialists as I have heard that they would be cheaper and also do a better job.

If you could let me know that would be great

I got the same quote here in VW Belfast. But i just pay £265 to a VW specialist garage. That includes Cambelt replaced, fan belt replaced, water pump replaced, the pulley on the cambelt replaced, 3 litre of coolant replaced.

i paid £115 from my local dealer, not a VW specialist but still it give you an idea. This was all filter changed, inc pollen and fuel with inspecting any fault codes my ecu had thrown up.

So give you an idea.

if your in the north west, go to awesome gti, i tke my gti there over the dealers, they are absoluely great, cant recommend them enough

when my cambelt needs doing, ill be having them use a standard vw belt and uprate the pulleys to lightweight performance ones
