New Merc alloys finally on :D

Post by mc_iver_9n »

Thought I'd post a few pics of my new merc alloys now they are finally on.

I personally think they change the whole look of the car.

Any comments welcome.

Did think that also, but theres not alot of definition between the center and the outer bit of the rim, so not sure it would work too well. Plus they have been feshly refurbed lol

No they are 5 x 112 but im using 20mm adaptors

Cheers fellas :D

No tinting spray. Just normal

Got the slight poke at the rear and tuck at the front. :)

Thanks Chris, they are ET 42 so the hub adaptors bring them down to 22 all round, got the 195/40/16 tyres for a subtle stretch on the 7.5J alloy. Did look into getting them polished but decided against it as its my daily and polished finishes obviously require more upkeep and im lazy, haha.

Are there any issues with running 20mm adaptors? I ask because a friend is thinking of running 15mm adaptors on his golf. He has heard that narrower adaptors aren't as strong etc.

But i assume that if he goes for quality ones like H&R he should be ok?

Cheers Dan. :)

Black a4 - Havent had any issues yet. But only been running them for 4 days so far! I went with H&R for the quality - think they only do 20,25,30 mm adaptors (well rimstyle do anyway) may be different for the golf. Its down to personal opinion with how you feel about safety when running adaptors. I dont see any problem with them providing they are fitted correctly and are well made etc. I dont want to say yes they are fine - then your mates wheel come off  I probably wouldn't go below 20mm myself tho.
