clutch kits

Post by andyniceday »

Neither GSF or Eurocarparts can supply me with any kind of clutch kit for my car, it lists a part number but then says its been superseeded and is NOT suitable for the ARC engine :?

has anyone bought a sachs/valeo/LUK kit recently? whats the deal? :?

Would this help http://www.tigerstyle.co.uk/poloforum/v ... hp?t=29613

I also had a local Sachs dealer in Hong Kong who confirmed Sachs part no 3000 581 001 for my 2001 Polo 1.6 16V GTI with ARC engine. They had to order from Germany @ ~GBP 100.

Oh really, do u mean Sachs part no 3000 581 001 is incorrect?

I check it online here http://webcat.zf-trading.com/index.asp?SPR=4 which also shows this part no for ARC/AVY engine, and I'm not looking for the performance one

Cheers.

I think so, read what Tigz says on the next page of that thread........

The clutch listed previously does not fit!
The three locating holes on the pressure plate do not line up with the engine locating lugs.

Awaiting a call back from Sachs!

God knows, eurocarparts have sent me part no. 641440620 (sachs part number 3000.581.001) and the invoice says "not for polo GT"

Got my mechanic to ring them and they cross referenced the parts in the kit to genuine VW parts and confirmed it contains the right ones for the gti. Guess i'll just have to wait and see if it fits :?
