i got a quote of £25 for this to be done, thought of doing it myself, but i dont know if i have the right paint code to do it, i have LD7W, but in halfords that code didnt match...
im sure i wont be the only one to tell u but if u do it yourself ur not guaranteed to get a perfect match. specially using halfords paints. if u wanna do it yourself best bet is to go to a vw dealer with your chassis number and they can order paint for you. dunno how long it will take for them to get it in tho but the paint will be a closer match then halfords will.
altho if u dont have n e of the stuff then:
sand paper about £3
paint (lacquer and colour come together) about £15
prob just better to get a job done if u want it done perfectly first time or for quicker timing do it yourself.
I paid at least that with the number of laquer, paint and primer cans I bought trying to get it right. I couldn't get it perfect so took it a garage in the end, which cost me £16.
Definatly take it to a bodyshop, i did my front splitter in my garage at home with halfords paint cost like 18 quid for plastic primer and cleaning agents for that paint so defo take it to a bodyshop, Mine came out perfect cos i work ina bodyshop and i no how paint works and that and 25 moneys is exellent for that!
