Central locking and windows failing

HI all,

I have a W reg. 1.4 polo E and have now found my central locking failing. The lock/unlock pad on the drivers door doesnt work and the windows (driver and passenger) also do not work from drivers side. The central locking will work from the passengers side from the outside and the passenger window works from the passenger side (inside) also but nothing in the driver side works.

Just wondered if anyone had experienced this and what kind of repair bill i could be looking at! I'm guessing not great given the complexity of a central locking system!

Oh and it's boiling hot outside as well, couldn't need that window to work any more!!!!!

thats the exact same problem im having at the moment. and when you want to put petrol in you have to get out and go to the passenger side to unlock the petrol flap. I need to get this fixed however i don't know whaat is wrong with it. if anyone knows can you please reply

I am encountering the same issues, except it seems that the fault has spread to the stereo. I can only hear the sound from the right hand speakers. Punching does seem to work for speakers but not for the window/Central Locking.

Just joined the forum today to see if anyone else's got the same issues. I think it is worth investigating a loose terminal as most of the faults I am encountering are intermittent. The right hand side window starts working out of the blue and then the left window stops. C/Locking issue persists.

I will investigate the issue a bit further today, if I have any luck I will post a reply.

Hi Guys familiar fault with VWs
look at the tube that goes from drivers door to car this has wires from door to car
pull back rubber tubing and you will find broken wires
they were not flexible enough and tend to break over the years
especially as drivers door is used most

my wifes Galaxy was same ( VW Sharan in diguise )
