Standard alarm problems

Post by James 172 »

Hi all
Sorry to dive in on my first post with a question, but I have been browsing the site for months now and suffice to say you guys have given me a wealth of knowledge on various niggles ive had with the car.
When I bought my girlfriends 6n 1.4 CL it came with a standard VW alarm which the guy we bought off said had never worked, so before I look into booking it into a garage maybe you guys could suggest some things to try. I am by no means an expert when it comes to cars but I have checked that there are batteries in the key fob!!
Any help would be greatly apprecited
