Hi Mate, just to give you an idea...

My car was doing a similar thing - whether it was hot or cold i'd be driving normally in low revs in a 30mph or watever.... then it would jolt a bit and then limit my revs to 5000 revs.

Turns out that my "speed sensor" had gone - i got a new sensor at a cost of around £60 and i also put some new sparkplugs in. this completley resolved the problem.

hope this helps dude,

Hmm its strange.

I've spent about £500 trying to get mine sorted at a VW specialist.

Mine gives cam speed sensor warning and something else.

The Garage told me the VVT actuator was not being switched on by the ECU. They ran a line from the VVT to a switch and manually switched the VVT on - this makes the car go fast again, BUT it runs like crap at low revs.

I bought a cable from ebay and I'm getting vagcom next week. I think I might need to take it into the stealers...
