Post by ticki »

please vote and let me know what your experience has been with exhausts etc.

after market mate my powerflow system has been setup just right it only grumbles above 4k. ive seen gains from it plus you get a lifetime guarantee as long as you own the car.

I've got a Powerflow too. Pretty pleased with, especially the lifetime gaurantee, but it could be a bit quieter! You can get them made to whatever spec you want though. I had mine made to the standard exhaust specification, 50mm pipework with a hidden backbox.

Cheers

Either get a hidden one, or a small twin but only if it's cut to fit in with the bumper kind of like the new GTi's :)

im worried going with something other than standard is going make torque suffer.

did you get more torque or just noise?

Go to a specialist and talk to them about it. I've heard good things about powerflow, not just on here but a mate has one on his C3. there's quite alot of customisation involved which is great for looks and sound, I would'nt know about the perforomance side on them regarding torque though sorry.

I'd agree with Alun, hidden or smart twin pipe 8)

I had the same set up as Si. Could have been a little quieter as 70mph, but had no problems with it. :)

Ive got a powerflow too. I specifically asked for a quieter than what was already on exhaust (which was a powerflow too)

He used a larger bore pipe than the previous for better flow and used larger backbox. Cant fault the workmanship and it sounds ace now, not loud at all, it just rumbles nice at higher revs

Ohhh and hidden is the way forward ;-) stealth

No problems with loss of torque on my car, I compared my graphs with another owner at the last CP Rolling Road day and it was near-identical.
