Im toying with the idea of getting some coilovers for my GTI...
However, I dont want to drop the car very low 20mm or so....I want the coilies for handling improvements not bragging rights...
So what are decent setups that will improve handling?
Where is the best source?
Coilovers.....which ones and where from?

Icey-Polo who used to own Tomo's old GTI fitted FK's and they seized up after just over a year.LiverpoloGTi wrote:I talked about coilover brands recently with the guys at Awesome GTI, I told them I didnt want any cheap crap and also didnt want to pay any premium prices. They said that FK make good coilovers at a reasonable price (£375-400).
YOU PAY FOR QUALITY!
Go onto KW's website and have a look at the acid bath test and I think that should explain why you need to pay £600+ for decent coilovers.
After alot of thought i decided on these, only been on a coulpe of weeks but very happy with them, and the service i got when ordering them http://www.europerformance.co.uk/pages/ ... =3733155mk

Personally I don't think you need coilovers to achieve better handling.
I would suggest Koni yellow sport shocks with Eibach pro springs. I had Bilstein B8 sport shocks with Eibach pro springs on my gti and the handling was excellent, but the B8's are reasonably hard as they are high pressure monotube shocks.
If I was ever to consider coilovers (which I don't intend to), I would only look at Bilstein, KW, H&R & Koni. I wouldn't touch FK with yours!
