How often should you get it done. I had mine last done in December 2006 when I had my coilovers fitted

I've been told my several sources that it should be checked every 6 months ... not that i do! ATS said they would check it for free and let me know if it needed doing, I suppose others will do the same.

Cool, I'll probably have to get it done soon again, my steering wheel has started vibrating a little more than usual

i got told u dont really need to to do it unless ur steering feels odd. lowering it and changing wheels to different size will affect it so would need checking then.

i had mine done about 3 weeks or so ago but it was cause i put coilies on so its alot lower now but will be lowering it more so will have to get it checked again when i gfet it done.

my local garage i use check it for free and only charge if it needs doing. they even show u the read out befor its done and after so u can see for yourself. the place i get it done have a flat ramp for mots and so they can check it on there if the car is to low to fit on theyre ramp which it will be.

Yeh that's what alot of places will do.

James you an get it done whenever mate!! But psi levels and tyre tread wear will affect it.

Took mine to get it done on Friday, but they completely ignored the fact that I asked for camber aswell. And just did the tracking. Waited round for an hour to be done, but after driving it I've found it's still out!!

Going back on tuesday, the thing that worries me though is that I know they won't do the camber so will have to go eslewhere.

Does anyone know if garages generally just do camber without tracking at reasonable rates?

good idea would be when u get it done get ur tyre pressure checked to. thats normally done for free as well. if u get the tyre pressure checked then u know theyre all even and then the camber will be better. otherwise if the pressures are different and u get the camber done, if u then get the pressures done after it will then slightly. prob not enough to worry about, but will affect the camber then if u loose more pressure it will affect it more....

ahh that makes me worry slightly less, how far are you down tim? i took mine in to get the camber/tracking done but they told me the car was down too low so they couldnt compensate and make the camber match :S (the gti before i sold it)
