boot door and the locking..

Post by yosin »

hey just wondered if you guyz and girls can help me with this problem i have with the central locking on my boot door.

my central locking pump died out on me a few weeks back and i bought a new 1 from the scrappie. my old 1 worked fine where all the doors would open and lock.

However, now with this new pump all the doors would close and lock apart from the boot door. i would have to open it manually still with the key which is quite annoying.

Does anyone know what could be the problem?

thanks in advance :)

The only thing i can think of is to first play around with the lock. Im sure you can move the key in three places? one to open, then two others that lock it. That mite be the problem.

pull off the boot door card (easy as pie)

Then you should be able to identify the problem, and see if the pump is doing its job.

I had a similar problem never sorted it but it was to do with the rod (which unlocks/locks the boot) not being pulled in/pushed properly.

But anyway pulling the card off should be the best thing as its quite simple to diagnose from there.
