Front Fog Lights

Post by thebadun »

Hi,

I want to get some fornt fog lights fitted. I have been looking around for kits, 2nd hand anything. Finally called up my local VW dealer - who totalled up the parts needed and it came to just under £200. Then labour has to be added. :?

Does anyone know a better or cheaper way to get them? I really want the VAG ones as they look the best.

ive got the vag ones you can see them on my car in members rides. it was an option when i bought the car, they are superb. if i was you id ring all the breakers yards, get a autotrader or go to yellow pages or somthing and ask every single one.
good luck

Alright mate

I had them done about 2 months ago, i brought the fogs from a breakers (15 quid each), the plastic bits were from stealers, and the switch i brought off a mate, it worked out to be £55 i think. its worth it your car will look much better!! :P

Thanks very much for all the help - I like the idea of the breakers yard, as long as they're all there! . I was looking through old questions to Martyn at vag parts and it looks like he'll do the whole kit for around £140  , much better than the rather unhelpful VW dealer (seemed a bit like he didn't want my business and it was all too much hassle :?: )...

I'll let u know what I go for and how much it all costs in the end.

Thanks again for all the advice so far.

Called the breakers today and they said that they didn't have any fogs and weren't due to get any? :? Also said they were real rare. Worth a try though...

I'll try some others, but if that doesn't work I'll go for new ones. Just depends on how the cash situation is looking after the car comes back from the dealer on Tues. It's going in for engine managment light coming on - they say faulty brake light switch, I suspect it's something more sinister (or will be when the bill comes through).

If they're plug and play then hopefully that will make installation easier (for me) or cheaper(if I get a pro to do it).

found dans fogs on ebay, bought the switch off vag-parts (thanx Martyn). they are plug and play, really easy to fit, as long as ur origioanl switch isn't busted! one of the clips wouldn't retract so we couldn't get it out!

Hi again,

Pettsy, spoke to CMS, but not to Simon, so I'll give them another try soon. D17NS X, when I get hold of some, it would be really handy to get in contact and you can let me know how to fit them. Cheers for the tip Doug, but haven't seen any on e-bay for a 6n2.

Cars at the VW delaer now - so depends how much they rob off me today whether I get 'em this month or next.

Thanks again for all the advice. :D :D :D
