Short bursts with a throttle body cleaner spray. Keeping the revs around 3k, for about 60secs

Well okay havent done that clean yet, but i have used this twice Forté gas treatment

http://www.forteuk.co.uk/Gas_treatment.htm

it has made a massive different to the power. but lately i am starting to get the misfire/hestitation again. especially after these heavy rains. clueless now.

Gonna do what you suggested once the gas treatment has left the petrol tank.

Does it matter which intake cleaner I use. I have a Wynns one. and it says use while engine idling.

I started to get juddering, hesitation and the one misfire. I discovered my coilpack was badly corroded and decided to give her a full service. Changed it for a new one with new leads and spark plugs with all new filters etc and she now turns over and drives really smoothly. I used to get about 60miles to 1/4 of a tank, but now get about 85 miles odd which is a bonus........its worth checking out

That should be fine. Mine's called 'carb cleaner', got it from Halfords.

Did the throttle clean yesterday on lunch break. unfortunatley the idling is still erractic. But if i blip the throttle it settles down. if i leave it idling for long enough it will start again.

*sigh*

Leave it for another 100 miles and see how it's like after that. It normally takes a while for the car to settle after cleaning out the TB. If no better I'd look at previously recommended coil packs and spark plugs
