Funny Noise on start up

Hi All

I have been to look at a 6n2 gti with one of my mates, after about 2 minutes of starting the car a funny noise started appearing, Sounded like a fan or the A/C unit, the car was started from cold, has anyone experienced this that might be able to shed any light on what it could be ?

What sort of noise and where abouts was it coming from mate?

Might just been the fan cooling the engine if its idling?

It sounds like the fan, you no when you turn your car of after a long drive but the fan keeps going, sort of like that although it strarted for a couple of minutes, than stopper and than started again.

In that case it MAY be something electrical if its intermitent on and off ? Or a sensor?

Thats all i can say on the situation mate, theres lots of ppl who will help you out on here tho. Just thought id mention about the fan

if the air con is running it will be the compressor/fan cutting in and out, should hear a metallic click x 1 then the air con fan running

Yeh set the climatronic to ECON, or better still OFF, and see if it's still there
