HID's

Post by DanOliver »

Hey everyone,

Just looking around for some HID's as I want to get rid of these 'xenon effect' bulbs I have.

What are the best sites to look at and are there any particular brands, models etc that I should look out for? What sort of prices am I looking at for a decent pair?

Cheers, Dan

www.hids4u.co.uk

They will sort you out mate.

May i also recommend some LED side lights, as i had "normal" sidelights and they looked rubbish against the white of the HIDs, so i took them out. Should be getting some LEDs v v soon tho

Cool, Well after entering my car on the site, its recommended I get "H7 HIDS4U ProPlus HID Xenon Conversion E4 Certified Ballasts" but I am unsure which 'Colour Temperature' I should be getting...

£99 seems reasonable though?

Another thing, my headlight enclosures on my car at the moment are fairly scratched and have crap inside them (Dead flies and junk) Any ideas how much a new set of these would cost? or if there is a way I can refurb them myself?

Look on ebay Dan theres some on there for about £20

My headlights were all scratched etc and i bought near new ones. Made such a difference.

I know theres 3 kits available i think. I'd get the middle range one.

Also the higher the temperature (k) the more blue/purple the light is.

So don't buy the ones I was suggested by that site? Would a phillips set be a better option? I will probably get the mid range colour temp '6000k' I think.

Well after some unfortunate events this morning, I think the HID's will be put on hold a little bit longer :(
