dont worry about the curving its not that easy to explain.

it dont look that bad actually, only thing is altho it looks good without, i dont want to get rid of my rear wiper as i use it when it rains to clear the rear screen.....

i like the luminous paint you used for the lights tho

the number plate recess is basically wat im talking about. maybe getting rid of the rear 3rd break light to.

do u know if its illegal or an mot failure if u dont have a spare wheel?

You dont need a spare wheel the new mini and the clio 182 dont come with them but if you have one it must be legal. It aint paint on the lights they are red lights lol

well i might def try to lower the number plate recess a bit depending on if the support bar allows it behind the bumper. i got my original lights so could put them back on if i want and i do have a solenoid wired up but not connected so could get that sorted. altho it dont seem to wanna open first time all the time so dunno if the solenoid is buggered or if it just wasnt connected up properly.

No, just smooth the whole bumper so there's no recess at all, then put the plate in the same position it would be in if there were a recess.

well i had a look at the bumper today and theres some sort of reinforcement bar behind the rear bumper which really restricts what i can do but im gonna try it and see wat happens.

so far i tried to lower the reg recess and had to shrink the amount i cut out. this is what it looks like so far.

this is the pic of where i cut out the part of the number plate recess to move down.

once i cut it out i then roughly did the marking out of where i need to cut to put it in the bumper lower down.

and this is how it looks like at the mo. its not in place properly just tacked in place.

i dunno if i'll like it at the end but ill find out.

im sure not everyone will like it but its different, if it works so i figured why not try it. no one else has.

yup but doubt i'll do any more yet untill i tried it on my car and found out if the reinforcement bar behind the rear bumper gets in the way. if it does it could be back to the drawing board. might try it friday if not then saturday.

that was a random comment but if this dont work then i will indeed be interested in it as i could put my bumper back how it was but obviously wont be as strong. hopefully i'll know over the weekend.

had a look today and it looks like the idea could just fit witht he reinforcement bar behind it so we'll have to see how it works out.

so far so good.......... did more of it today. this is how it looks so far.....

u can see in this pic how i actually "welded" it together. once ive done the front im gonna do it again on the back.

started using fibre glass but didnt wanna stick to the plastic permanently, came loose when it bent or twisted. so i decided im not gonna buy a plastic welding kit so i decided to try to do it with a soldering gun and it works great.....

only problem i got now is i run out of plastic so if n e one has part of a bumper they dont need, flat part, then i'll have it.
