My 1.4 tdi is giving me problems. It happens sometimes. When i drive in 2nd gear or above and put my foot down the car revs and then goes back down and then the gear kicks in. Im not sure what it is. My brother was saying its the oil, but i changed it like 2 months ago and i used the recommended castrol 50501 tdi oil . for VW.
has anyone experienced the same as this?

yes i have been reading around and everything is pointing to a clutch going on its way out. Trying to look for a sachs one. Theres none on eurocarparts
was told by one person that it is the deisel filter, and was told by another person it could be the MAF sensor. Dont want to spend money on something which is already working. Although the clip for the air filter is broken.
def sounds like a clutch problem. easy way to check, 35mph - 5th gear and put foot down it shouldnt rev up at all. if it does rev up but your speed doesnt increase then safe bet its the clutch!
sorry dude, but i think its def the clutch. to be on the safe side speak to a mechanic you trust to confirm,if so get it done before it lets go all together and leaves you stranded somewhere.

i got it checked by 2 mechanics, one said it could be electrical problem so change the diesel filter (?) lol and the other said thange the air flow sensor, coz he had a similar problem on a passat.
im no pro, purely an ametur (sp) mechanic, BUT
MAF sensor - had this on my 2002 Passat 1.8T = crap fuel economy and down on power
knackered fuel filter - had this on my 1998 200SX - lumpy idle sometimes and struggled on full boost (possibley fuel pump)
but have an "electrical" problem = fuel filter??? scratching my head here, sorry lol
have you tried what i suggested, 5th gear, 35mph and foot down...
