Trust me, there not BLUE and as for having PROJECTORS already installed in the GTi headlamps your fine, i ran some 8k HIDS in my 1.0mk5 for well over a year and they were blue as there not projectors but having projectors in them reduces the blue tint

few pictures for you mate,

Drivers side is the new 8k bulb and passenger side is normal 4.3k notice how there not blue!

This pic is the 8k bulbs in the headlamps and 8k HIDS in the fogs, notice the difference seeing as the fogs are not projectored where as the headlamps are! ;)

i had a set of 8k HIDS fitted to my 1.0 mk5 and they were blue as there NOT projectors, there was no decrease in light, only better, thats the whole point in getting hids you wont get stopped by the police as there projectors, i would of in the blue polo though!

James did your fogs show any sign of melting with the HIDs in? And did you get to give them a proper try out i.e ran them for a long time?

Yep they were fine Tim, no signs of melting the lens or anythin mate :D cool little mod, saved the HIDS going to waste as they didnt fit in the GTi's headlamps :(
