I used to have a 2003 Polo 9N and had a gas bonnet lifter.
I queried why my GTI didn't when I picked it up at the showroom. Was told due to safety measures/issues (maybe if bonnet was to fly open?) is why they are not fitted anymore.
Truth? .... or just filthy lies???
Personally, I couldn't care less if mine had one or not.
I think that some penny pinching accountant scored here - Skoda did not fit them to the Fabia from "day one" - as said already the bonnet will feel a bit heavy and not nearly as classy as having these lifters fitted. Maybe have a look on the Skoda site (briskoda.net) and see what they bought as a kit - seems they are available, I've only got a 9N so don't have that issue yet!
