Rear wiper not working

Ello,

New to all this.....I'm in need of help. A few days ago my central packed up on my polo 97 and now my rear wiper has also died on me. I have checked fuses and the relay but to no luck.....anyone have any ideas on what to do ??? :x

97 polo's a mark 4 6N mate, not a mark5 GTi 8)

The cases may be related. check the central locking pump first though, then the wiper motor.

It may be that the rear washer fluid tube has leaked on the boot release and damaged the lock/wires causing the central locking to faff. Which in turn has also knackered the motor.

Have you had any problems with getting your boot open/unlocked? Even before the CL went?

Hi,

Just goes to show how much women know huh lol. :oops:

No probs with locking of boot etc. I have checked pump and thats a ok.

Is it a common problem with them...?

It does happen on the mark5, the fluid leaks and causes the alarm, boot lock motor etc.. to do alot of strange things. it may be worth checking out on yours. Open the boot and remove the plastic trim on the tailgate to have a look.
