17's on my mk4

17's on my mk4

Ok,

Im after some alloys for my mk4 but how much work will it take to get them on?

Its totaly standard at the mo, the wheel and tyre sizes that i want are...

205 - 40 - 17's

If am being honest mate I wouldnt bother with the 17s looks riducluios with them I would go for dished 15s but if not maybe 16s with 195 40 26 rubber :)

I had them on mine lowered 50mm,,,,wasnt too bad but opted for coilovers and 15s recently,,,Ben off here (6nBen) bought my rims and his is lowered 60mm,,,,dont think he's had many probs with em either.

thats my mate neils car, yes he has 17s but I think the mk5 5 door can pull of 17s whereas a mk4 can't, Imo

mk5 had slightly rolled arches.

i think 15" suits the mk4, well thats what I had anyway :lol:

Depending on the fitment and offset, 16's go on a treat.

In my oppinion, 15's suit the mk4 best and 16's suit the mk5 best. Only certain 17's look ok on a mk5 but it almost always looks like a 4x4! :?

i would go with 16s myself. less chance of rubbing and you can also lower the car alot more without the 4x4 look of 17's

Scott ya cow :D just because thats what you have :D Im always arguing on here over 15" and 16" and 17" :D everyone just wants the same 15" 1929102" deep dish rims :D its not what i like i like the 17" :D

Well thats not true, because the majority of folk have said go for 16's. Ithink a good mix of dish and size is best

i got a set of seventeens off rich,,, as he said and i have never had any problems with arches or what not. the ride is alot smoother than my 16's (black ones) and mine is lowered 60mm. but as said above people have different tastes and i like those wheels and also it differ with offsets but yeah no arch work whatsoever!
