Load of lights on!

Post by Dee-vub »

Alright folks! god its been a long time since i have posted on here :O

Actually i still have the polo! Drive a corrado VR now though, so the polo is just sitting in the drive.

I have a wee problem that i am sure some of you gurus may be able to help me out with.

The car is needing sold now and needs to go in for its mot but for some reason i have dash lights on! :?

I had the car vag-commed and it came up with loads of faults, but it is likely they were just brought up from when i put the GTI conversion in! They all cleared apart from the temp sensor (which doesnt bother me) But the handbrake light has stayed on and beeps at me every time i turn the car on. Also the ABS light has stayed on! The engine light cleared but came back on a couple days later! Wierd! and even more wierd is that it showed up with no faults on vag com :S

Any one any ideas over this or if a similar prob has been experienced before ??

Cheers, phil

Maybe a few Loose wire's somewhere mate, Check it all, will be a pain yes - but if its been lying a while and Vagcom comes up with no faults, Only other option would be a Auto Spark.

Or even try Disconnecting battery for an hour blug back on and disconnect ECU. Never Know!

Yeh iv had the battery out cos the other one was goosed anyway! i'll try the ecu out and if that doesnt work....maybe best to just stick it to an auto spark like you say! Seriously frustrating!

I disconnected my ABS control mudule whilst the engine was running and i got the handbrake light on permanantly and bleeping.

Check that the ABS control module is plugged in properly.

The reason i unplugged it whilst the engine was running is because i had a fault on the ABS, code 01276

If this is your error code on VAGCOM, it is 99% the control module that is faulty.

This is the control mudule, located on the bottom of your ABS pump:

Phil, i had this problem on my blue 1.0, it did it for a few weeks then just suddenly stopped, think it boiled down for giving the engine a jet wash i think!
