BTW: Does anyone know how difficult it is to fit the VW Front loading CD player (the one that's £204) :?: Is it somethink that I'll have to get my dealer to do, and if so how many hours fitting are we talking? I don't think I can survive with just the Beta tape deck, and I just wasn't willing to pay £400 for the factory 6 CD changer.
Its Childs play to fit as the extra part of wiring comes with the CD player. You'll have to make sure you get a set of VW radio keys though. www.VAGParts.com can provide these at around 20-30% off retail prices. For a quote see the very last forum at the bottom of the page.

Thanks for the heads-up Neil.
I've just posted in the VAGParts forum to get a quote.

Don't suppose you know of a site that has got a fitting guide?

There should be fitting instructions when you get the CD player. IMHO its a really simple mod to do. I took mine out to cure a couple of rattles and its pretty simple. Only thing I will say is that the loom is pretty short for the radio for some reason and that makes it a little tight to get stereo/cd player back in. Nothing too worrying though :)

If it doesn't come with instructions www.polo9n.com has quite a few guides on how to do these sort of things. All in German of course, but enough pictures to guide you through. You'll need to download Acrobat reader though.

Cheers,

Neil

Hi there,

Just wondering,

how do you find the power/performance of the 1.4 engine?

Also looking in your pics, the color seems to have a different shade of blue compared to other Mercato Blue polo's I've seen. Unless its just the lighting and the camera that has made it look a bit different?

Hi p8ksy, I think the tip is a nice cosmetic touch. I'm just wondering how the tip is attached?... simple DIY job? I looked at the exhaust on my 1.2 and it's curved pointing downwards(?).... would this tip still fit? Cheers.
