How to remove standard manufacturers stereo player?

how do you remove the manufacturers stereo player? Got my own HU i want to put in but dont now how to remove the standard 1...

You need the correct stereo keys.

This is what they look like:

They clip in either side of the stereo down a small slit, and pop the face forward.

You can buy them from halfords, and if you ask nice enough they'll do it for you!

They're the ones I've got and used? It's definitely those ones.

Are there perhaps two different ones?

lol 100% wrong. Thats the new RCD removal keys not the delta/gamma/beta/alpha ones

I used to sell these nearly every day at VW :P

ooo i c...so might take a trip down to there now lol..

also if i take them both out...doesnt this leave a big gap in 1 of the slots?

would taking the stereo out leave a hole in 1 of the slots as i see its 2 slots you have take out?if you get my drift :roll:

You can get a cubby hole for the other space.

U can keep the bottom part of the two as i have, just remove the top HU i just yanked mine out with no keys and nothing broke and i was amazed, Fort wot would happen if i just give it a little pull!

Oh and changing ur head unit sometimes altears ur remote central locking, u gotta change some of the wiring around if urs doesnt end up working!

ahh i c...knowing my luck will up up breaking some part though lol
