but you can't? surely one of those relays that are used for the electric window roll up? they invert to negative don't they?

Thats not the problem. If the relay is put on that circuit, the interior light wont turn off...its something to with the coil being energized and not losing its current for ages

I see.. can you not run a seperate circuit off the driver/passenger door switches?

On the headlights (sidelight wiring) and the footwell lights can be turned off when the sidelights are on if you dont want them on for any reason.

I fancied something never done, so i did it!!

Thats pretty cool..

The VW Toureag has a similar red light on the bottom of the rear view mirror which gives the center console a nice warm glow...
