Stage 3 - Mods as above plus "bigger" turbo and injectors, intercooler mods.
what can stock internals take on this engine? what about longevity and reliability with a stage "3"?

As far as I am aware the engine is good for 340bhp on stock internals...no one with that sort of power is upgrading them.

flyfs6 - I look at something "strong" for K03s.... let you know...

for Stage 3... you just need 315cc injectors, 3" MAF and K04-001

They are direct fit and will work well with your mods...

I hope to achieve 260-270 with mine.... that will be enough power for the little Polo....

My Mechanic has a Ford Focus RS with 340+ bhp and its undriveable - its damn scary - so much torque steer....

I did a traffic light start - Me in Polo against RS with my brother-in-law driving - Polo had it easy but only because he could not control the RS - where the Polo got the power down and went in a straight line..lol

sorry mate have to disagree here we class stage 3 as a GT28RS or higher, well APR do anyhow

K04 is really part of stage 2

No-one governs the standards for stages......

They are what you want them to be.....

I said..... "tuning stages on POLO as I see them"...

Stages 1, 2 and 3 and even 4 are different for different vehicles...

So stage 3 on lets say a TT225 will need big massive garret or the like....

APR - well they have to make exact stages - define them by exact hardware requirements - cos they will make ONE file - based on one conversion - and use this for everyone else....

We can vary the stages to suit the customer...

So you have a POLO 1.8T ... you fit K04, Injectors, MAF, Intercooler, exhaust....what software you going to run ?????

APR stage 1 - NO
APR stage 2 - NO
APR stage 3 - hmmm you say it doesnt exist and if it did it would have to be for a huge garret - so again NO

So you are stuck ? you dont want to run a K04 on the K03s software for long cos it'll run lean at the top and all will go POP...

Our Stage 3 software is TOTALLY custom written - to suit the exact application...

So to please everyone in the world shall we have a stage 2.5 ??? My sig changed... ;-)

got the reply from awesome, and its looking too much to go for it, its going to be over £9k all in, heres a break down of APR stage 3, to run a reliable 340 bhp 300+ft/lb torque polo

personally im going to look in to getting the helix clutch done and the diff to use what power i have now and leave it at that

Stage 3+ kit - £4495+VAT

Fitting of turbo kit - £1250+VAT

Quaiffe Diff is around £700+VAT including the fitting kit.

Labour is normally £594+VAT on its own. However we could do the diff fitted at £1000+VAT

Clutch – would need to know what gearbox code you have to know for definate but for for a helix clutch you would be looking at around £750+VAT, plus fitting

quote from andy in the e mail
This will make the car an absolute monster, but it will still be extremely drivable, and no doubt one of, if not THE, quickest polo’s in the UK

JBS do a smilar conversion for £4500 including clutch plus the diff.

They're one of the big turbo guru's.

i know, its far too much money to spend, i believe the main cost it the turbo downpipe and TIP, then theres the diff and clutch too

but the fitting costs is due to the removal of the engine from the car and the general mass size of the job, its a big change
