Which coilovers?
Which coilovers?
im stuck and cant decide which coilovers to get, im tempted to pay £600 for KW but then im not sure if its worth the difference of going for FK or any other coilovers which are £250-£400 and save alot of money
what you guys think?
what you guys think?
if i was to buy another set id buy the kw, ive currently got the fk kongisports and ive recently had to refurb each one and replace each lock of and adjuster o rings just from the fact they hadnt been looked after well enough before :(
the good thing with the kw the lock of and adjuster is only one plastic o ring therefore seize are anything !

Either save up for some decent ones like KW's or fire a set of £200 ones on, Alot of folk On E38 are praiseing them!!! but at the end of the day you pay for what you get.
Altho i wont be buying FK's again! One of the shocks are f****d, and leaking, so nxt set will be £200 set untill i can afford a Decent set of them!

yeh i went and spoke to gwent VW and got advised that FK give nothing but problems, so advised to stay well away from them
and weitec are good, but might aswell stretch bit more and get kw. think im going to get the kw's and get them ordered next week, cant wait to get my car slammed
anyone one know if you go low you get gearbox issues or anythin else?
and how low have you guys been runnin without any problems?

Good choice. The KW's are one of the best.
FK's always need greasing and seize up.
My car is lowered to around 50mm but you can probably go lower depending on what wheels you have on the car. If your running the standard wheels you might want to think about buying some spacers as wheels will get dwarfed by the arches.

the spec list looks impressive....
the spec list looks impressive....
The AP pro coilovers are a new and exciting brand for 2008. With so many coilovers on the market it’s hard to make a decision which brand to choose. The supreme quality and performance of the AP coilovers may help influence your decision. We have seen numerous coilovers over the years and the AP brand comes top for value for money. They can only be described as superb!
The AP coilover suspension has been designed to compete with the numerous budget coilover brands which have recently flooded the market. The AP coilovers have been built to a very high standard and therefore pass the all important TUV quality standards test. Many of the cheaper budget coilovers do not carry the TUV seal of approval indicating a lower build quality. With AP coilovers you have the peace of mind that comes with the German TUV quality certificate indicating superb build quality and finish.
The AP coilovers are very similar to the Weitec brand but sold at a fraction of the cost. Each coilover has been designed to ride firmer than the factory fitted suspension. The damping is approx 25% stiffer and gives a firm yet forgiving ride. The springs are powder coated blue and the kit also benefits from built in bump stops, helper springs and shorter piston rods which also help provide a smooth ride. Each AP coilover kit will lower your car a maximum of 30mm-80mm.
Stock availability is good and the application list is massive. If you are looking for a good quality budget coilover kit then the AP brand has to be considered.

It will increase chances of the gearbox popping, for it puts more pressure on the driveshafts. something to do with the angle that they sit at? There is alot of speculation over this, and it's likely someone will disagree with a valid point as to why it doesn't. But after hearing both sides it's what I believe.Razz wrote:

im running RHs at the moment which i believe are 16x7 not 100% sure, maybe 7.5 but i dont think 16x7.5 are normal?
im in a bit of dillemma at the moment on wether to keep them on or put the originals on, as the RHs need a good refurb. anyone know of any good places in the south wales area? that also do diamond cut finish
im after keeping the centres diamond cut as they are already and a polished lip.
