Oh no! More wheels!

Post by Si_GTi »

I guess I get bored of my rolling stock too easily!

The G60 steels have been on since last September so its time for a change. Yes, thats right, I'm taking my "winters" off and putting a new set of "winters" on

Picked up a set of Fox 15" multispokes quite cheaply, stripped the tyres off today and they are already prov. sold which leaves us with these:

They have a little kerb rash to be sorted and then will have a lick of paint before going on to the GTi!

Watch this space...

Yup. Plan is the same colour as the Renault Megane R26 rims:

They are 7x15 and ET35 so should sit nicely (the G60s are 6x15 and ET35). I just need to get some centre caps with a VW logo! :)

I like those, they remind me of the R32's type alloys.

Under 24hrs for someone to enquire about the G60s, ha ha!! Sorry, I'm keeping the steels in storage once they are off. I've been told I'll get a kicking if I sell them

Dropped the alloys off with the refurbers this morning, we had a chat about colours and lets just say they aren't going to be anthracite any more... but a different colour which I'm not going to reveal until the wheels are completed ;)

Should be ready within 10 days or so :)

£180 for a full refurb on all four rims Alex. Would have been cheaper if I had asked for only the faces to be refurbished, leaving the backs and insides of the wheels alone. But with these darker colours it means that you get silver bits showing through, not a good look!

My old black G60s were £160 when they were done :)

Cheers

I do believe it is paint on this occasion! The steels were powdercoated for extra durability - steels have a tendency to rust!!

They sound like they will be a great fit (same size/offset as the Rondells I had), and it could look good, it all depends on the colour.

Any idea of the weight of one alloy, be good to compare to the G60's that are coming off, and an ideal time to find out whilst they don't have tyres fitted.

Ahh good choice mate, been waiting to see a pair of multis on a decent stanced GTi 8)

I'd opt with black or white. Can't wait to see them!

Sorry, not sure of weight. A whole lot lighter than an RM though, thats for sure!!

Black crossed my mind, white a no-no (these are going to be winter wheels primarily so white will just go brown haha). Grey/anthracite was my intention but I have been persuaded to try something different

Wait and see :P
