Best feature?

Post by dxg »

Hello everyone,

Don't know if it's just me, but it's been a bit slow / serious on here in the last few weeks.

Let's lighten things up a little...

My question to each and every one of you is:

What's your favourite feature or characteristic of your Polo?

Derek.

The looks (of a tastefully modded one, that is)

The performance (ok, it's only a 1.2, but it still goes blummin' well for a 1.2!)

The badge (proud to be driving a VW 8) )

the steering wheel!
The glove boxes under the seats I have.
the look off course!

WHat I don't like: the original ride height. I diden't buy a polo to drive around like a jeep. (thx KW for providing a better suspension :P )

but the polo is still the ugliest/blandest of the three cars on the supermini platform, and judging by the pics on the VW germany wesite, looks no different either. At least the Fabia looks agressice (although it could be made more so), whereas the you would be hard to really tell the Ibiza/Polo with the engine apart from the others.

I disagree, Skoda are known for making ugly cars and they certainly didn't buck the trend with the Fabia. It has the ugliest rear of the trio and the blandest interior with the worst plastics.
The Octavia was okay but let be honest here, its a downgraded Golf for the Pikeys and taxi drivers of this world. Skoda stick a 1.8T engine in it and owners think it'll out-handle a Elise around a track, oh please...

The only Fabia model that even registers in my mind is the VRS (oh, and the doomed 1.0...) and i'll admit its a nice car, even though it does have one of the ugliest factory front bumpers i've ever seen.

Not having a pop, you are allowed to like them - many respected members of this community do including me. The thing that draws ill feeling is your blinkered, unquestioning and unswerving loyalty towards Skodas

Eh?????

I think you will find that the quality of the plastics in the fabia is generally seen (not just by me) to be higher than the Ibiza although not the polo, and vRS apart, I agree the car looks as bland as both the Polo and Ibiza. I like the look of the Ibiza, but the increase in the price for the same car with a worse spec (Ibiza only at the moment) is not worth the difference in price. (the better quality plastics in the Polo is not enough for me to justify the higher price tag).

I never said that I did not like the Polo or Ibiza, just that IMHO the Polo looks the blandest of the three. True the Fabia is not the prettiest car around, but it is not the ugliest either and is one of the best vfm cars around.
I do not have a blinkered, unquestioning and unswerving loyalty towards Skodas as you put it and I put the original answer (the Skoda badge) as a Joke, so at least read the posts properly and get the facts right next time before you reply with a coherent argument.
