I bought this a couple of months ago in the hope of being able to run it whilst at university, but I'm just not using it enough to warrant the expense of insurance etc, so it has to go
So! Since I've had it it's had new ignition leads, plugs, dizzy cap and rotor. Starts well every time and drives just as good. Steering has next to no play, so I imagine the previous owners had the bushes changed. Alternator looks pretty new, too.
Bodywork is average, but the majority is straight, aside from some rust coming through at the very rear of the boot and some bubbling which the previous owner tried to spray over around the filler cap :/
The underside of the car has been 'sealed' by the previous owner. I don't know what the story was before it was sealed, but I've been under the car with my stabbing stick, and it's all solid. Also, because the undersealing is pretty thick, it cruises damn quiet as well. It's a 5-speed, too.
The worst bits: Rear silencer has a hole, so this will need to be replaced/repaired for next MOT.
Nearside driveshaft seal has a small leak, I've only noticed recently whilst parking sideways on hills where the gearbox oil has a chance to escape, so shouldn't pose a problem and is relatively cheap to fix.
Clutch release bearing makes a little noise, but shouldn't need attention for a while yet.
At some point in it's life, the fuel tank was replaced. With a 20-litre unit. Now, before you click the 'back' button, hear me out. The fuel mileage on this car is pretty good, the engine runs clean and healthy, so this has never posed a problem to me. Unless you clock up some serious mileage, this shouldn't affect you either.
Tyres are falkens all round, have a good amount of tread left. Wheels are the factory alloys, and were refurbished a couple years back.
Also has a Witter towbar fitted.
An ENORMOUS stack of paperwork comes with this car. I mean, damn. From looking through all that paperwork, I can derive that the cambelt has been changed at around 50k miles and that the car was regularly serviced.
