JayKay progress thread

Post by JayKay »

Basically this is my Polo. Only a 1 liter but does the job for me.

Tweaks so far are.
15" BBS RA and some 40mm lowering spring which arent fitted yet.

In most of the pics the rims are painted black but atm they are silver.
Didn't like them in black.

Looking good mate. Will look a lot better once lowered. I quite like the black wheels with the black handles and bump strips. Black badge would have gone well too.

Got any other plans in the pipeline?

Probably HU and change of speakers.

Not sure what to do on the exterior. Have nothing really planned.

Check out my progress thread may give you some simple ideas, I haven't done nothing major.

Depends on your budget. You could remove bumpstrips, Change the grills, Debadge the back, Dewiper the rear, Aero wipers at the front, Stubby aerial, Colour code rear badge, Smooth the bonnet and Tint the windows. Just several ideas.

Forgot to say..... welcome to the site!

Welcome to the forum mate. You should've kept your wheels black! They looked great with all the black coding on your car (bumpstrips, handles etc..)

Thank you for the welcome.

Im still not totally sure on the black wheels. The car looks pretty good with silver wheels. Just need to get a decent picture of it tomorrow.

Also a small little lame embarrassing  problem with it being shared with my mother . :(

Im back with an update.

Lowered it 40mm. Glad i went for 40mm and not coilovers as the speedbumps around my area are terrible.

Heres a picture of it lowered.

Just 40mm lower springs. Stock shocks.

It was quite easy to change. The only hard part was the damn caps on top of the front suspension wouldn't come off.

Thank you for the responses. :)

LoL, oh yes they are tight. :P

Stuck a flathead screwdriver into the side twisted it a bit, got a wooden block underneath the screwdriver for leverage and popped it off.

Took about 5minutes each side :P and its not the greatest way as now theres big screwdriver holes in the plastic but meh. :P
