Hi Guys
I've had a Polo GTi (black) since last September now, and have to say I'm very pleased with it indeed. Only one problem - numerous searches on the web failed to find any information on the car itself or any aftermarket parts and advice. Until now!
So a couple of questions:
I'd like to fit an induction kit and cat-back s/s exhaust system - any particular combos work well? I was thinking Pipercross kit & Powerflow pipe...
Also, how low can I go with the car (on standard wheels and dampers but hopefully Eibach springs) before speed bumps and such become a problem? The Eibach springs I want will lower about 20-35mm...
Thanks for any advice..
Si

Hi Si
Welcome to the club.
First of all... Forget the Induction Kit... Unless you're going to pay the premium for a BMC Carbon Filter (about £160), as all the others will give you LESS performance than standard. Instead, get yourself a K&N Replacement Panel Filter. They are MUCH better than any "normal" induction kit (except BMC).
As for Exhausts... Many people have had issues with Powerflow. Many People.
I'm currently looking into custom exhausts made by proper experts, but they're not cheap.
Supersprint make some nice exhausts for our cars... Magnex also make a system, but the back-boxes are a bit big.
Good luck!

Thanks guys... the exhaust system will wait for a bit, need to save a bit of wonga to go get it done anyway! K&N panel filter on the way though (cheers Josh!). My sister's bloke had a powerflow system fitted to his Mk4 so that was why I was considering it - sounds good too!! He says it gives a 10% increase in power... thats a bit much for just an s/s system isn't it??
I also want to eventually change my slightly knackered alloys (thanks to the previous owner methinks, it certainly wasn't me!) and wondered if anyone had any suggestions around the 15" or 16" kinda size - I was thinking something like OZ Hydras (clean-looking 5-spoke)...
