Whining noise when I accelerate

When i accelerate there is a whining noise which gets louder the faster i go, at first i thought it was a wheel bearing but now im not so sure?! Can anyone help?

I had the same thing in my Type R. Turned out to be my girlfriend! :lol:

Haha, that was pretty funny :lol:

Back on subject. Does sound a bit like a wheel bearing, the faster you go the louder it gets. Where's it coming from? And what doubts you thinking it's not a wheel bearing?

When driving along, does putting the clutch down have any affect on the noise? This won't affect a wheel bearing.

I thought it was coming from the passenger front side now i dont think it is. When the clutch is down the noise stops, its at its loudest when accelerating and and then you can hear it going quiet when breaking

if it stops when you put your foot down on the clutch it could be the release bearing this was hat mine was i had the smae noise and i also found out that my 5th gear had worn away and i think 4ht aswell

Cheers for the help, my view is that its a bearing of some sort. Il run it down to the garage in the morning and see what they say

becarful where you take some places will tell you its the box to get you to let them do it a release bearing is only bout 20 quid from eruocarparts

Release bearing whines when the clutch is down, not up.

That's what both of mine did anyway.

the noise might be coming from the gearbox maybe?

yea sounds like to gearbox possibly seen as the noise stops when the clutch goes down too. should get it checked out.
