Blown Turbo - Polo 1.4 TDI PD SPORTS SE - Jabba Remap

Hi,

Unfortunately last week my Polo's Turbo gave up the ghost. This car I have used day in, day out for over a year and a half, and I am incredibly reluctantly having to sell it with a blown Turbo as I simply cannot afford to get it fixed. The VW garage has looked over the car and they informed me the Turbo HAS gone, but also they were unsure asto what condition the engine would be in if they fixed the Turbo unit. So I think the best thing is to try and sell her as is.

The run down on the car -

X reg (2000) silver VW Polo TDI 1.4 PD Sports SE with custom JABBASPORTS remap. (108bhp)

130,000 miles

Lowered with original springs

Just had ALL brakes done (£250) new discs / pads all round

MOT till December / Tax till january

Needs 2 new back tires.

Documentation, half service history, spare key, receipts, Jabba receipt (£600)

Pictures can be supplied. I am at work currently and unfortunately don't have access to any of the car.

I have seen them on Pistonheads of a similar age / mileage go for around the £1800 mark, so I feel that £600 is a good price for someone who may be in a lot better position than me to get her all fixed and sorted.

Did they give the evaluation for the blown turbo? Blocked oil feed maybe?

did the impellers seperate into pieces? maybe through the induction?

Thanks for the enquiries.. I'm not sure as to the extent of the damage. But I will be asking him tomorrow as someone is interested.

All I know is that I was driving along, and it was struggling to get past 30mph.. VERY slow progression, and a whir noise from the engine.

Unfortunately I HAD to get it home so finished my 15 mile drive home. On the way it was irratically idling up and down the rev range - almost feeling like it was going to stall at every junction.

It is currently still at the mechanics shop and I will enquire as to EXACTLY the extent of the damage to the Turbo tomorrow.
