damm! that's what I've been thinking of for a very long time now. only, i was going to put gauge cluster there, using the cubby box lid -- oil temp, pressure and boost -- per the common mkiv din slot mod, the scooby dash cluster mod, and the "sporting" version of the Tupi.

This sort of thing, but inside the cubby box lid:

Someone got there first

(Of course, I was waiting until I had a 9n with a turbo in it before being able to make this happen...

)
