My Dad pays for the insurance when I'm at uni (because I hardly use it). And he can't afford to keep it running (he was trying to get me to sell it not so long ago), so to cut costs I'm going to share my brother Skoda and the Polo will stay in my Nans garage when the MOT expires :(

It means I can fully utilise the Kestrel Polisher I'm getting for Christmas though, so it's mint for the Summer when I finish!

yeah just try and look at it on the bright side, you wont be racking up mileage and can concentrate on making it spotless for the show season...all safe and sound locked up away from weathering!

Yeh, it just sucks because I never get to drive, and really look forward to coming home every few weeks and taking it for a spin!

It means I'm going to have to save a few bob to get the MOT, service, tax and insurance out all at the same time next year!

Well the bill has just come in at over £1k :( Alex is not happy!

The drivers rear brake caliper had seized, which was the cause of the funny noise - so thats another hundred quid for a new one of those - joyeous!!

Oh well she'll be back in my grasp soon - and boy I cannot wait!!

UPDATE:

She flew through her MOT today :)

The brake caliper was saved with some clever cleaning, so thats saved me some, but in other news, the suspension top mounts have rotted, so they need replacing but thats not too bad.

Ive bought a new daily polo:

Its a Black Mk3 Genesis - quite a nice little motor. 1.3 5 speed - quite pokey with the Polo Ace chip installed

Im basically taking the GTI off the road until around april time when the weather improves, as its just eating the GTI alive with its new paint still not absolutely rock solid and that.

All the mk3 needs is a good polish and a few coats of collinite then im ready to go. All serviced, all mot'd and taxed its gonna be fun :D

Plans are basically to get the CC wheels on the GTI on there. Its already down 60/40(60) so i can have a pretty pimp ass look going on. Some clear front indicators, and some GT rear lights and its pretty much done!

Anyhow update over!
