Fitting coilovers

Well have finally got some coilovers ordered and coming my way

Now i need to fit them...

Being a mechanic i have a fully stocked tool box... at work. But i don't really want to unload all my tools to bring them home to fit the coilovers.

Could anyone tell me what tools i will need... ie. spanner/socket sizes, pry bars, etc?

I can't remember exactly what sizes you'd need, but it's:

Springs compressors for the top mounts off the old kit
Spanner for the nuts on top of all four struts
Allen key for the front too struts at the top (it's a weird size, maybe 7mm?)
Wrench for the 3 bolts per strut up front on top
Spanner to de-attach the strut at the bottom where they meet to bottom arms (there's two here)
Spanner to de-attach the rear struts at the bottom (one screw each)

The nearside rear (if a GTi) will get caught on teh backbox, so you may need tool to dismount this so you can gain access to it.

Sorry I can't provide any spanner sizes, but at least you know what your up against.

Look at this guide, it's for a 6N but works in the same way. Maybe you can work out the nut sizes from the pics?:

It is stiffer yeh, you feel the contours of the roads alot more now. I do have a very cheap kit installed though.

But you totally get used to it. When driving with such a low stance you've got to be careful with what you do, so feeling every move you make almost comes in hand with that really I feel,

I'd much rather be aware of what I was driving on, rather then forgetting and gashing my splitter for example.
