Drivers side passengers window switch not working.Help

Post by yosin »

Basically on the drivers side window switch, the passenger button aint working to move it up or down. The drivers button is fine and so is the switch on the passengers side.

Ideas to fix it ?

thanks

Quite possibly need a new butto, you can buy them individually. First try resetting the window though using the passenger side switch. Hold the button so the window goes all the way to the top, when it gets there hold it for an additional 5 seconds, this will reset it.

If the button doesn't activate after this, remove the switch from the doorcard and switch over the connectors, try out the buttons with the recently switched wires to see what works and doesn't.

Switch sounds knackered.

I had to replace mine recently. Try switching the plugs into the opposite socket on the bottom of the switches and see if the Drivers side window stops working and the passenger side starts working. This will confirm if its the switch.

If it is there about £15 from VW. Easy to fit just clips in, and plugs in.

Yep, I reckon its from rain droplets that get in it, and mess it up.
